North East England Cultural Observatory

This debate will take the form of a round-table summit to discuss the evolving role of culture within wider regional development. It will present an opportunity for the CNE Board and other key cultural stakeholders to talk about future directions for culture in the context of the new political and regional landscape.

The board will be joined by a select panel of key regional development decision makers and hope to have an open and productive discussion of the big issues for the region in the coming decade and how best the cultural sector can contribute to the flourishing of North EastEngland.

Our aim is that the summit will result in us all having a better sense of what the next stage in this successful culture/regional development alliance will look like, and, that this will be a useful influence on the way we think and work.
